I've decided to focus on my screenplay and research project/screenplay/documentary on wolf hunting in Alaska.
Although I am required to have a full-fledged script done by the end of Screenwriting II, I want to have a script not just because it's required but because it's the type of writing I am most interested in. It's also what I hope to do as a career so I've taken the course very seriously and tried to develop my ability within the medium. For our final project in Screenwriting I we had to finish Act I. That same assignment is due for Screenwriting II after Spring break, and after looking at my Act I from the first semester, I've already found many flaws that I have learned about from this second semester. I intend to be finished my full script far before it's due date at the end of the semester.
The second project on wolves, is much less focused than what I know I want to do for my screenplay. I know how I feel about the topic of wolf-hunting, but specifically how to attack it is where I'm undecided. Producing a documentary is where my mind continues to push, and I feel like that could be the most effective way (aside from a big blockbuster) of getting attention. I don't think by writing a private essay or journal will garner any attention, but an emotionally provocative film about murdering wolves will likely tear at the hearts of many Americans. My neighbor spends her summers in Alaska working as a trail guide, and she offered me a place to stay if I did end up going there. So I think there is some headway to be made, and a very real possibility for it to happen.

I think that this wolf idea is amazing. It is great that you have a passion for it and that you have some connections that could really make it happen. I think that while you continue research and screeplay writing you should look into grant writing as well. This documentary sounds like a project that could attain grant funding. Tim has mentioned to me before that Champlain has a grant writing class. I'm not sure when it will be offered again, but if enough of us show interest I think we could take it before graduating. I was planning on asking Tim soon, let me know if you are interested and I will mention your name!
